DataViz Tool Fair

Denver Data Storytellers and General Assembly hosted an evening of learning about free and low-cost tools for data wrangling and visualization. As a data visualization professional, navigating the number of different software options can be overwhelming. Our hope was to create an environment where we could all learn more about different tools, especially those that are low cost or open source.

This event was held on Thursday November 7th, 2019 at General Assembly Denver. More details can be found here.

Book Club

The DDS book club brings together data lovers to explore the practice of data storytelling through the lens of authors in the field. To date, we have read Storytelling with Data by Cole Nussbaumer Knaffic, and Weapons of Math Destruction by Cathy O'Neil. If you're interested in joining future book clubs, please message Rachel (Rachel [dot] Breck [at] gmail.com) letting her know you're interested.

Behind the Design

Our yearly Behind the Design event features a panel of data professionals from a variety of industries sharing their tips and tricks for sharing data insights. We hear about how they determined their audience, made design decisions, tested, and adapated.

Data Nerd Happy Hours

Throughout the year, we host informal happy hours to bring together the denver data storytelling community.
